When a recurring plan is worth renewing
A recurring lab plan should retain because it becomes part of the manuscript workflow, not because a team is paying for abstract access to AI. We look for renewal fit during the pilot.
Questions PIs ask
Is our unpublished work safe in a shared portal?
Your lab gets a private, lab-scoped workspace with no cross-lab visibility. Manuscript content is not used to train Manusights or model-provider models, access is limited to the review workflow, and a data-processing agreement can be discussed during review. Manusights is not a HIPAA service and must not receive PHI, HIPAA limited data sets, FERPA-covered records, export-controlled material, or other regulated content. De-identify the manuscript through your institution's approved process or do not upload it.
We already do journal club. Why this?
Journal club reviews other people's published papers and builds judgment, but it never touches your lab's own unpublished drafts and leaves no record of what was flagged. The portal closes that gap and keeps the record.
Is AI feedback trustworthy?
The engine is calibrated from early work with 35+ CNS-experienced reviewers and senior scientists, with citation-integrity and statistical-reporting checks built into the workflow. Treat it as a strong first pass that makes the PI's read faster, not a replacement for it. It is review, not editing, ghostwriting, live human peer review, or a guarantee of acceptance.
