Trust and legitimacy

Is Manusights legitimate?

Yes. Manusights is a real, operating pre-submission manuscript review service founded by Erik Jia. If you landed here from a “scam score” checker, here is the honest picture, plus every way you can verify us yourself in a few minutes.

Why you are seeing a “risk” label

What a scam-score site actually measures.

Automated reputation sites generate a page for nearly every domain on the internet. They scrape three things: how old the domain is, how much traffic it gets, and whether it has a valid certificate. Then they turn that into a single “score.”

A young, lower-traffic site gets flagged as high risk by default, because the algorithm cannot tell a new legitimate business from a new scam. It is not looking at whether anyone was actually harmed. On those same pages, the real malware and phishing scan almost always reports no threat detected, which is the part that actually matters.

Manusights launched in 2025. The domain is young and the audience is a specific slice of researchers, so these tools read “new and small” and print “risky.” That is a limitation of the tool, not a finding about us. The rest of this page is how you check for yourself instead of trusting either their score or ours.

Verify us yourself

Six ways to check, none of which require trusting us.

A real business leaves a paper trail. Here is ours, with a direct link for each one.

A real, named founder

Manusights was founded by Erik Jia. His story, his photo, and how the review standard was built are on the About page, not hidden behind a generic company name.

The Trust Center lists every subprocessor, what data it touches, and how long records are kept. Your manuscript is never used to train AI models.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Is manusights.com a scam?

No. Manusights is a real, operating pre-submission manuscript review service founded by Erik Jia. It has a named founder, published example reports, Stripe-processed payments, a refund path, and documented data handling. If a "scam score" site told you otherwise, that score is generated automatically from domain age and traffic, not from any evidence of fraud.

Why does a scam-checker site give manusights.com a high risk score?

Automated reputation sites generate a page for nearly every domain on the internet by scraping the domain age, the traffic rank, and the SSL certificate. A young, lower-traffic site gets flagged "high risk" by default, because the algorithm cannot tell a new legitimate business from a new scam. On those same pages, the actual malware and phishing scan usually reports no threat detected. The risk score is a proxy for "new and small," not a finding of fraud.

Is it safe to upload my unpublished manuscript?

Your manuscript is used only for the review you requested, is never used to train AI models, and is transmitted over an encrypted connection. Access is limited to the review workflow. The Trust Center documents the subprocessors involved and the retention boundaries in detail.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe. Manusights never receives or stores your card details. Full Review and Dossier are one-time charges, not subscriptions, and refunds are available if something goes wrong with your order.

Who is behind Manusights?

Manusights was founded by Erik Jia after watching good research struggle to get published. The About page tells the full story and shows the founder directly. For institutional due diligence, you can request data-handling materials and speak with the founder before any paid pilot.

I built Manusights because good science should not get stuck in review for reasons nobody bothered to explain. If you are unsure whether we are the real thing, run the free scan and read the output, or email me and ask me anything. I answer.
