The Support Observatory stays out of search indexing until every first-pass profile receives an independent evidence review and every institution has a correction window. These packets make that gate inspectable and repeatable.

The protocol

Four checks, in one fixed order.

This is not an open popularity vote or a request for testimonials. It is a structured evidence audit for people with relevant scholarly-communication, library, research-support, or research-administration expertise.

Declare independence

Name the reviewer, affiliation, relevant expertise, and any relationship with the institution. The first-pass reviewer cannot verify their own work.

Open every official source

Confirm that each URL resolves, is institution-owned, and supports the recorded observation. Third-party descriptions do not replace institutional evidence.

Check all six dimensions

Evaluate each note against the published rubric. Missing public evidence is a discoverability finding, not proof that a service does not exist.

Record an auditable outcome

Confirm the profile or propose a correction with an official source and a required note. Accepted changes remain visible in version history.

Interpretation boundary

What a confirmation does not mean.

It is not an endorsement, award, certification, or national rank.
It does not evaluate faculty, research quality, prestige, or private services.
It confirms the recorded observation against publicly discoverable official evidence.
It does not open indexing until all 50 reviews and the correction window are complete.
